Even as a young woman who is used to this, I cant get over the fact that your talking about making your students artwork, "better" using ai. Nothing replaces human art, and I would be so upset if my teacher were to use ai to "Fix" my art and, "Make it better". Teach children to be creative and improve, not for ai to do it for them. As a artist, It makes me mad that someone could use ai to make CHILDRENS art, "better". Teach children to develop skills. Stop teaching them to rely on AI.
Thanks for sharing, I agree that human creativity is irreplaceable, and student artwork should always be valued for what it is.
To clarify, in my article I suggested that AI could transform or customise images as a fun extension activity. I've seen students faces light up in delight when I've taken their sketches, turned them into AI art, and then animated them to dance around (all with AI).
Thanks for this great article. I use several AI art apps for my own creative pursuits. As an ESL teacher, I recently found Midjourney helpful when I needed to help pre-beginner students understand the difference between TO BE and TO HAVE. After googling futilely for illustrative images, I was able to whip up a humourous picture of a person holding a pencil and another of an anthropomorphic pencil, and a similar pair of examples using a daisy. AI to the rescue!
Haha, that's a great example of using Midjourney to get the precise images you needed! I've done the same, although I feel I've wasted more time with playing with Midjourney than it's save me. Thanks for sharing!

thx for the article. how could lecturers at college/ university use image generators ?
Hi Thomas, there are two free ones you could use: Bluewillow.ai and Leonardo.ai - you should be able to use both for free!
