🤖 Launching: 'AI Education News'
An AI newsletter to make sense of AI in the classroom - without the overload.
Hi everyone,
Today I’m stepping a little outside the TEFL world to share something new I’ve been working on: a curated newsletter for educators navigating the world of artificial intelligence.
It’s called AI Education News, and it launched last week.
Why an AI newsletter?
If you’ve ever tried to keep up with AI developments lately, you’ll know the feeling: constant updates, jargon-heavy reports, and very little that directly relates to your actual teaching.
That’s the gap I’m hoping to fill.
AI Education News is a no-fluff, educator-curated newsletter that pulls together the most relevant AI updates, explains why they matter to your classroom, and gives you practical insight - without overwhelming your inbox or wasting your time.
It’s designed for:
Higher ed folks trying to make sense of AI’s role in teaching and assessment
Secondary teachers wondering what tools are useful (and what’s hype)
Educators of all types who want to stay informed, not overloaded

You can expect:
Short, clear, focused newsletters. Each issue includes:
The most important AI news for educators
A “Why It Matters” section breaking down practical implications
Occasional guides or resource tips you can actually use
It’s completely free, and I’ll be sending it out weekly on Sundays.
Why?
As you’ll know from the Barefoot TEFL Teacher newsletter, I’m interested in real-world tools that save time and improve teaching - not shiny trends for their own sake.
AI has huge potential for education, but only if it’s filtered and framed by people who actually understand teaching. That’s what I aim to do with AI Education News.
Not your cup of tea?
No problem at all. Barefoot TEFL Teacher will continue as usual, focusing on practical ideas for language teachers. Nothing changes there.
But if you are curious about how AI is shaping the future of education - and want a trusted filter through the noise - I’d love you to join me over at AI Education News.
Let’s make sense of this AI thing together.
Best,.
David

I feel I am struggling to stay up to date with AI because it is developing so fast and in ways I believed impossibile before. So I want to say thank you for doing the "grunt" work for us (humble teachers trying to survive in this fastpaced and overcrowded world). Thank youuuuu 😉
